There are many single adults in our community who are looking for a place to connect and our Singles Ministry is the place to do just that. Whether they are established in a career, never-married, widowed, divorced, or just in need of a fresh start, this is a place for single adults to get involved on three levels:

Spiritually - Through leading a community of single adults into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, we are committed to giving them the best opportunity to become fully developing followers through small group Bible study, prayer, retreats and other special programs.

Socially - We believe connecting with other singles and building quality friendships is very important for encouraging a positive Christian life. Our Singles Ministry offers a variety of social activities to develop those deep personal relationships.

Service - From local service opportunities to serving on short-term mission trips, serving is an opportunity to contribute to God’s work, impact His world, and give Him glory. Our Singles Ministry encourages involvement that makes an eternal difference.

Two Single Adult Bible Fellowships come under this ministry:

Singles United For Christ meets each Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. in Room 10. This group is designed primarily for singles 30-45 years-old.

Singles 2 meets each Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. in Rooms 13 & 14. The mission of this group, designed for singles 40 and up, is to reach, teach, equip, serve, and nurture singles for the purpose of leading them to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ.

Young Professionals
The Young Professional Ministry of Riverland Hills has been in existence for approximately 4 years. It started with a core group of about 12 single young adults in their 20’s and 30’s who realized the need to minister to and reach this very critical age group. According to Thom Rainer, President and CEO of Lifeway Christian Resources, in his book, “The Essential Church” most young people drop out of church between the ages of 18 and 22. Thus, the young professional ministry plays a critical role in reaching those who have dropped out and are searching for an avenue to reconnect with God.

The Young Professionals are actively involved in many areas of ministry at Riverland Hills such as the Grow Ministry, Music Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Mission trips, Upward recreation ministry, and teaching and working with the Youth Group, just to mention a few.

In the fall of 2009, the Young Professional Ministry birthed a new class, The Young Married Professionals. This class is comprised of married couples in their 20’s and 30’s that are making the transition into married life. This class seeks to help these young couples build a marriage on solid ground by connecting with the Lord to get His guidance as they begin their lives together as husband and wife.

Under the leadership of Charles and Dianne Sibley, who have been with the Young Professional Ministry since the beginning, and Chip and La Donna Davis who joined the Young Professionals a few years ago, the ministry has grown from the original 12 to over 124 active members, 47 in the Young Married Professional Class and 77 in the Young Single Professional Class. Both of these classes meet in the gym on Sunday morning and are taught by Bill Crockett. The married class meets at 9:00 AM and the singles class follows at 10:15.

The Young Professional Ministry is founded on practical Bible teaching that addresses the every day challenges we face as believers. Currently there are 4 different Bible studies during the week run and attended by Young Professionals seeking to know God better and grow in their walk with Him.

The class operates on 5 main principles they seek to live each day:

1. Identify God’s Purpose
2. Implement God’s Principles
3. Intercede in Prayer
4. Invest in People
5. Increase Personally the kingdom of God by doing my part in the body
