Come and be a part of what God is doing through 55+ ministries! We call it “3-D” living. We are committed to helping 55+ adults to “press on” in Christ likeness by being devoted to Christ, demonstrating His love and duplicating Christ's life in the life of another.

55+ Ministry Opportunities:

Oasis: meets each Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall. 11:00-1:00PM. Light meal served, cost $3.00. There is singing, fellowship and a life application Bible study by Dr. Tim Phillips.

Joy Club: Meets from September—through May, the second Thursday each month in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30-8:30. A full meal is served with great Christian fellowship and entertainment. The cost of the meal is $3.00.

Homebound Ministry: a care-giving ministry to homebound members/non-members. Orientation and training is offered throughout the year.

“Q-2”: 55+ evangelism training course offered throughout the year. Fifty-five plus adults are taught how to share their faith using The Way of the Master method.

55+ “Fun Fest”: outreach event, which takes place in October. “Fun Fest” is a fall festival type event, which includes games, music, entertainment, tasty treats, and a creative gospel presentation.

Spring Retreat at White Oak: This annual retreat takes place at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro, SC during last February or early May. A book of the bible is studied over during the weekend. A great time of fun, relaxation and spiritual renewal.

55+ Golfing Group: A group of 15-20 men play every Tuesday morning at Charwood Country Club. Come join us!

Widows Ministry: An ongoing ministry to widows, which includes light repairs and yard work throughout the year. The ministry is highlighted with an annual Widows Appreciation luncheon.

Summer mission team: A week long “hands on” mission project within the southeastern United States. Members are trained in evangelism, ministry, leading backyard bible clubs, prayer walking, and other skills related to mission sites.

55+ Worship teams go to local nursing homes the first Wednesday of each month. The teams lead worship services for the residents and provide ministry and encouragement.

Fall Retreat at Lake Junaluska takes place in the fall of each year. A great time of bible study and fellowship at Lake Junaluska retreat center, in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains just thirty minutes from Asheville, NC.

Short Trips: Each month our 55+ group takes a short trip to some place in the state of South Carolina. These are day trips and the cost is minimal. A great way to build relationships while having fun!!

Long Trips: Once or twice a year we take trips to distant places across the USA or overseas. We have visited such places as Mexico, Alaska, England and Italy.

Mission Projects: Throughout the year our 55+ adults are involved in local mission opportunities to the State Fair and several retirement communities.

Anna’s Tea is a monthly ministry of encouragement to widows. Fellowship, food, and an uplifting program are provided. Anna’s Tea meets the second Monday of each month from 1:30 p.m. in room B201.
