Riverland Hills Day School provides a warm, nurturing environment for preschool children. We offer preschool for children from ages two to four (Pre-K). We currently have 120 children enrolled and have all but one class filled for the upcoming school year.

Our staff provides a loving environment for the children. They lead and teach our children in developing positive behaviors and attitudes that will be a part of the children’s lives long after they leave our program. We currently have 23 staff members. All staff members are required to have background and fingerprint checks through South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Director participates in twenty hours of training each year including topics in growth and development, curriculum and classroom management. All other staff members are required to obtain fifteen hours of training per year. The staff also receives CPR, first aid and blood borne pathogens training. We had the opportunity this current year to have the First Steps program run by the state of South Carolina back to assist with enhancing the quality of our 3 year-old classrooms. Our teachers have learned a lot through this training and have been very positive about this opportunity.

We continue to follow closely the Lexington/Richland 5 calendar. Our Preschool program operates from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m.. We offer extended care beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. This makes us unique since many of the area church preschools do not offer these extended hours. Our summer camp program ran for nine weeks. The children enjoyed visitors from our community who talked about how the children could take care of God’s earth.

Our 10th annual Trike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital was a fun event. To date, the Day School has raised over $45,000 in the ten years we have participated. The children not only learn about helping others but they learn about bike safety during the week prior to the event.

We offer a safe and secure environment for our children. Our doors are always locked and access is given to parents and staff by using a pin to enter. We are licensed through the Department of Social Services for 120 children each day. Our reputation in the community is very positive. We thank God for our growth, outstanding staff, and for being a part of the ministry of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. Our team continues to maintain a high quality program that started 43 years ago with perseverance and faith.
